Aspidistra – Cast Iron Plant (Family Happiness)

Aspidistra, commonly known as the Cast Iron Plant, is a hardy, evergreen plant native to East Asia. With its elegant, glossy, dark green leaves, it is an excellent choice for homes, offices and shady garden corners.

Thanks to its graceful appearance and tolerance of low light, Aspidistra fits beautifully into Japanese-style gardens, where simplicity, greenery and harmony with nature are highly valued. It is also ideal for growing in pots indoors.

Care instructions:

• Light: Prefers shade to partial shade. Avoid direct sunlight.

• Watering: Water moderately when the top layer of soil becomes dry. Avoid waterlogging.

• Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix.

• Temperature: Grows well at normal indoor temperatures and should be protected from severe cold.

• Fertilising: Feed moderately during spring and summer.

Aspidistra is a slow-growing, low-maintenance plant that retains its attractive foliage throughout the year. It is perfect for anyone looking for a durable and elegant green plant that brings a sense of calm and natural beauty to any space.
