Magnolia Little Gem is a dwarf tree with smaller, deep green leaves and a compact, bushy but narrow shape. The upper part of the leaves is shiny, the lower is brown. The flowers are large and fragrant and blooming throughout the summer. This plant is an ideal accent for small gardens.

This is the most popular Greek variety of olive for oil. It originates from the island of Zakynthos and is officially recognized for the variety that gives the best quality olive oil in the world. The trees are beautiful and bring forth abundantly, even in a pot. The fruits are dark, small and pointed.

Unfortunately, this wonderful olive variety can't grow almost anywhere outdoors without protection in Bulgaria. It suffers damage from frost at temperatures below -8 degrees at temperatures below -12 to -15 degrees may freeze completely, even old trees.

Meyer Lemon was first discovered in China. It is assumed that it is a naturally occurred cross between a regular lemon and orange or tangerine. Fruits of Meyer have orange hue of yellow. Their taste is between sour and sweet, but much more to sour. The fruits of this variety ripen in late autumn and winter.

These are very popular fresh lemons for kitchen use. Their popularity is increasing because of their different taste and aroma. In Bulgaria we already have them very often on the market.

As with all other Citrus plants, the orange is susceptible to scales and spider mites and needs to be sprayed twice a year.

Nymphaea alba Black Princess,  Water Lily Black Princess

These plants are not imported from Holland! If you buy Dutch Lilies, you know that most frequently nothing grows from them. The plants we offer are very well developed and sometimes even have flowers. They are well rooted in the pots and will not die for sure. Imported plants are usually cheaper, but most of them are only a small piece of root and have little chance of survival.

Since we propagate the Water Lilies by splitting the rhizomes of the large plants in our nursery pond, the quantity we produce is very limited, usually between 50 and 100 plants per year, from all colors.

Water Lily blooms continuously from early May until the end of September, and in recent years - till the end of October.

The Water Lily is an easy plant . Does not require clean water or circulation. On the contrary, it is best developed in marshy conditions and lack of circulation. The depth of the pond is best to be over a meter to the bottom, so the bottom will not freeze in winter.

It is recommended that the Water Lily is planted in the sand on the bottom . If left in a pot, it develops far less and fewer blooms. Planted on the bottom, the Water Lily grows vigorously and blooms continuously from early May to late September. It is better to add some colorful Japanese Koi Carps for the natural cycle in the water (so-called Nitrogen cycle).

If the pool is small and there are no conditions for growing Koi Carps, several common bream (a type of carp fish) will do a perfect job. They are extremely resistant fishes and are sold live at any fishing store as bait for pennies .

In winter the Water Lily requires no care, as long as the pond has enough depth.

The sarcococcus is an evergreen shrub that prefers shade and semi-shade.
The leaves are oval, reach a height of up to 2 m and a width of up to 1 m.
A slow-growing species, it can reach its full size after 7 to 10 years.
The plant blooms in late winter and early spring with delicate white fragrant flowers.
After flowering, the fruits appear, which are spherical fleshy and red in color, not edible.
Watering is regular and moderate.

Perovskia is a plant that forms a tuft up to 130-150 cm high,

and in width they extend to 100 - 140 cm. The petals are elliptical,

with a strongly serrated periphery and not very large - their maximum dimensions are: length 5 cm and width 3 cm.

They are hairy and highly aromatic. When crushed, they emit a delicate aroma, a mixture of sage and lavender. They are colored gray-green with a silvery tint.

It blooms with small blue-violet flowers, forming loose panicles up to 30 cm long.

The flowering period is long. It starts in mid-summer and continues throughout the fall.

To develop its wonderful decorativeness, the plant requires intense light. When growing in partial shade, the stems sprout and lie down, and the tuft looks loose.

It withstands cold, but it will not survive the extremely low winter temperatures in our country without additional protection of the rhizome.

The Caffin Mandarin was discovered in 1968. in Morocco by M. Kaffin. This variety has moderate growth. The plants develop a thick crown, with straight branches and narrow, deep green leaves. Starts fruiting very early. There is a prolonged floweringin, that ensures long-lasting harvest. Gives constant, average yield. Fruits are smaller, with slightly wrinkled, deep orange, medium thin crust. Oval, spherical shape, slightly flattened, 6-7cm. size, 8 to 9 seed segments, no seeds. The flesh is saturated in color, juicy and slightly sweet. It ripens early in October.

This Trachycarpus species is close to the regular Trachycarpus fortunei in terms of cold hardiness. It grows with just a little protection in places in southern Bulgaria, located outside the winter freezing inversions. It has very beautiful and hard leaves, that are very wind resistant.

This magnificent evergreen plant is not new for Bulgaria. It grows in southern Bulgaria and around the Black Sea coast, as long as temperatures rarely fall below -15 degrees Celsius. It also grows in some places in colder areas such as Ichtiman or Sofia, where there area few large and fruit-bearing plants. Fatsia must be planted in the shade, otherwise leaves get burned by the summer sun and will turn black.

The 'Sider Web' variety has a more dense crown, more compact growth and better cold resistance. These subtropical plants bloom in early winter, and their fruits ripen in May. The berries are small and inedible and have only decorative value.

Fatsia is also known under the name Aralia. It has been grown in many homes and is now scientifically proven that its large leaves purify the air by some poisonous gases like formaldehyde, for example.

The fruits of Tigertooth jujube are long to 5-7cm, oval and thin with a pointed tip. Ready for harvest when the skin of the fruit is half green, half brown. Drying reveals a rich sweet taste. The fruits ripen in September. The variety is self-pollinating and, as with all other varieties, the young plants have thorns. In adult plants, thorns are almost absent. Although the plants are drought-resistant, regular watering is necessary long enough for deep roots to develop. For a good harvest and larger fruits, regular watering in the summer is recommended.

!!! The offered plants are grafted and аre in pots.  Because of the limitation in the dimensions of the transport package, the plants can be cut at 100 cm in height.

Strelitzia augusta, White Bird of Paradise

Great White Strelitzia. This African plant is very easy to grow in pots. The plants have been produced at our nursery in Plovdiv. They are drought resistant, but in summer love regular and heavy irrigations. They prefer direct sun and tolerate it without problems.

Strelitzias can be kept for a long time without replanting, if you feed them regularly. From the base of the stem new shoots will appear, that may be separated or left for the formation of a dense crown.

Cedrus deodara, Himalayan Cedar

An evergreen coniferous tree that reaches 45 m in height and has a trunk diameter of up to 3 m. Its crown is conical in the first years of growth, becoming more branched as it ages.

Cold-resistant, undemanding to the soil. Does not like waterlogging.

Howea forsteriana, Howea, Kentia palm

Kentia palms are among the most beautiful palms that are grown in the Mediterranean. They have gentle and graceful leaves and for many people they remind of the coconut palm trees in the tropics.

Kentia palms do not like strong direct sunlight in Bulgarian conditions. They can be moved outside only when the temperatures are above zero, and at least partial shade must be provided.

For home use Kentia is the perfect plant. It grows slowly, tolerates the weaker Indoor light and can live for many years without causing problems.

This variety came from an old tree, which we found in a private garden in Rezovo. Soon after we propagated it, a new building was built on the site and the tree was destroyed. The qualities of the variety are very good and it deserves to be propagated and spread more widely.

Rezovska fig has a very good taste, with hints of wild berries. The fruits are black in color, with a strong skin and good resistance to transport and storage. It gives a main crop, which begins to ripen at the end of August, under the conditions of Southern Bulgaria and the Black Sea coast. 

Cold damage begins at temperatures below -14 to -16 degrees, and the trees freeze to the ground at temperatures below -18 degrees.

Nerium oleander 'Luteum Plenum' (Mathilde Ferrier),

Double yellow, scented Oleander

This is one of the most cold resistant Oleander varieties. It grows on our experimental plot near Assenovgrad (zone 7b) with no significant winter damage for more than 10 years. The pictures show our first plant there.

Chinese Date var. Lang
Ziziphus jujuba cv. Lang

Lang is a large-fruited variety with pear-shaped fruits. The fruits have a crispy flesh with slightly tart taste at the beginning, which becomes sweet when fully ripe. Suitable for both fresh consumption and drying. The fruits ripen in October - November. The variety is self-pollinating and, as with all other varieties, the young plants have thorns. In adult plants, thorns are almost absent. Although the plants are drought-resistant, regular watering is necessary long enough for deep roots to develop. For a good harvest and larger fruits, regular watering in the summer is recommended.

!!! The offered plants are grafted and bare root.  Because of the limitation in the dimensions of the transport package, the plants can be cut at 100 cm in height.

This variety originates from the famous Apice Piante nursery in Italy. Although with excellent qualities, there are differences with the authentic variety and it is not clear whether it is a form of the same variety or a different variety.

Brogiotto Nero is a magnificent fig variety from Italy. The fruits are medium to large, the main crop ripens from the beginning of August in southern Bulgaria. The skin is dark, medium thick. The fruits are very well stored, tolerate transportation and have an excellent commercial appearance. The taste is balanced, juicy and sweet. The Broggio Nero North variety shows excellent cold resistance in our experimental field in Asenovgrad. There is also a small amount of first crop (breba).

Citrus bergamia, Bergamot orange

Bergamot orange is one of the most famous Citrus species, due to the expensive Bergamot oil, which is produced from its fruits. They are also used in medicine, in many recipes (even in the production of Turkish delight in southern Turkey), and in some countries a Bergamot juice drink is quite popular.

All parts of the plant (flowers, leaves, twigs) have strong and distinctive exotic aroma, which is very valuable in perfumery.

Like all citrus, Bergamot orange should be protected from spider mites and scale insects.

It should be overwintered at temperatures below +10 degrees Celsius! At higher temperatures, the leaves will usually fall off. During the summer the plants should be outside, fertilized and watered regularily.

Citrus x Clementine

Clementines are a hybrid of mandarin and sweet orange, sometimes called Algerian Tangerine. In just a century, this hybrid has grown to a group of varieties that cover several months of maturing and are among the most popular dessert Mandarins.

Characteristics of the fruits of the Clementines are:

• - strong flavor
• - juicy with high sugar content
• - low acidity
• - thin peel
• - separate in 7 to 12 segments
• - ripen in late November to late January
• - seedless

Typical of clementines are their seedless fruits. But it depends on growing conditions and agrotechnics. Regular fertilization and cross-pollination with other citrus varieties are results in a different number of seeds inside the fruits.

Citrus myrtifolia, Chinoto

This is an interesting citrus of high ornamental value. It bears fruits that resemble mandarins. On the background of the tiny leaves, they stand out and the plant looks like covered by fruits. Regardless of their acidic taste, the fruits are used in many ways, especially in southern Italy, where they are used as a spice in a variety of local drinks, for example Campari.

Citrus limon red, Lemon red

This is still a very rare Citrus variety all around the world. In many countries, this new hybridit still has not been seen live. The plants are well developed and come to you loaded with flowers or fruits, according to the season.

The taste of the red lemons is less acidic if compared with that of the yellow lemons. The fruits are used in the same way, but are especially valuable in their appearance.

This variety is grown as all other citrus plants. It is best to overwinter the plants in a cool place, below +10 deg C.
