Licuala grandis, Vanuatu Fan Palm

The Vanuatu fan palm is a small tropical palm tree, which is usually up to 2 meters high and rarely up to 3 meters. It is a typical plant of the tropical jungle. It grows in shady places and needs constant moisture. It does not tolerate lime and in Bulgarian conditions, ferrous sulfate (FeSO4) should periodically be added.

If kept warm (at least + 20°C) and light place, this palm grows well at home.

It can be moved outside between 15 May and 15 September, but must be protected from direct midday sun!
