The Cannonball tree is a popular tree in the tropics, which is grown because of its incredibly beautiful and highly aromatic colors. Most of its parts are used in medicine. The tree is considered sacred in India, Sri Lanka and many countries in Southeast Asia. It is planted in parks, botanical gardens in temples. During the flowering period, a divine scent is flowing from the flowers. The fruits are round and large and resemble the cannonballs from which the name of the plant comes.
