Fruits are smaller, with slightly wrinkled, deep orange, medium thin crust. Oval, spherical shape, slightly flattened, 6-7cm. size, 8 to 9 seed segments, no seeds. The flesh is saturated in color, juicy and slightly sweet. It ripens early in October.

Plumerias are propagated also by seeds, but usualy the colors and shape of the flowers of the resulting plants never resemble the parent, and most often have worthless flowers.

Vegetatively produced plants are very expensive worldwide. Therefore, we have gathered a large collection of varieties from which to multiply and to offer the plants at an affordable price.

Plumerias are succulents. This means that they are very easy to grow in pots and require minimal care to grow and bloom. They only need a very warm and bright place and sunshine as much as possible. Then, a little water and fertilizer from time to time is all they need. As long as you follow these simple rules:

1. Never over-water them. Never let water to collect in the padding underneath the pots. Even in the summer, nothing will happen to them if they do gete water a few days. In winter, watering every 2-3 weeks or more.

Australian lime or caviar is a native of the coastal border region of Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.

This is a thorny shrub or small tree with edible fruits. Theyr flesh is a set of globular vesicles, also called pearls, which is why the plants are called caviar.

Spinoso mandarin variety is gaining increasing popularity. Appears as a natural mutation of the Commune variety, discovered in Calabria. This variety is one of the earliest, and the maturing period is about 8 months. The fruit is spherical, with a thin, dark orange to reddish bark. Avana Apireno is a variety derived from Avana's mandarin selection, but Аpireno is almost seedless, only few seeds per fruit. The plants grow slow, but compensate whit good crop.

Blue and Gold is another bi-coloured variety of juniper from the Pfitzer group. Thanks to that young leaves are so nice to touch (non-prickly). Its main colour is blue-green and up to 50% of the branches emerge gold / yellow, along the entire length of the branch.
It can be pruned, trimmed, and shaped in any way, it withstands hard pruning into old wood. Pfitzer juniper will grow in almost any soil, sun or partial shade under the trees. It is hardy to about -34°C, and is suitable for growing in outdoor pots.

Hybrid Lavender, Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso'

This French hybrid Lavender is fully cold hardy in Bulgaria. It is grown for its dark purple flowers, silvery-green leaves and faster growth. This plant is excellent pasture for bees.

Lavender needs well drained soils. Heavy clay soils that have poor air mode and a large moisture retention ability are not suitable for growing lavender.

Rosemary tolerates temperatures down to around -15 degrees Celsius without serious problems, and even a lot lower - when buried under the snow. An important factor for good cold tolerance is the well drained soil which does not hold excess water. Heavy clay soils, especially in cold regions are not suitable for growing rosemary.

The ponytail palm also known as elephant's foot is plant looking like a palm with desert origin. It develop a large, bulbous-shaped stem, wich retaining a lot of water in its foundation. Kentia palms do not like strong direct sunlight in Bulgarian conditions. They can be moved outside only when the temperatures are above zero, and at least partial shade must be provided.

Fatsia japonica 'Moseri', Japanese Aralia

This magnificent evergreen plant is not new for Bulgaria. It grows in southern Bulgaria and around the Black Sea coast, as long as temperatures rarely fall below -15 degrees Celsius. It also grows in some places in colder areas such as Ichtiman or Sofia, where there area few large and fruit-bearing plants. Fatsia must be planted in the shade, otherwise leaves get burned by the summer sun and will turn black.

The 'Moseri' variety has a more dense crown, more compact growth and better cold resistance. These subtropical plants bloom in early winter, and their fruits ripen in May. The berries are small and inedible and have only decorative value.

Fatsia is also known under the name Aralia. It has been grown in many homes and is now scientifically proven that its large leaves purify the air by some poisonous gases like formaldehyde, for example.

Plumerias are propagated also by seeds, but usualy the colors and shape of the flowers of the resulting plants never resemble the parent, and most often have worthless flowers.

Vegetatively produced plants are very expensive worldwide. Therefore, we have gathered a large collection of varieties from which to multiply and to offer the plants at an affordable price.

Plumerias are succulents. This means that they are very easy to grow in pots and require minimal care to grow and bloom. They only need a very warm and bright place and sunshine as much as possible. Then, a little water and fertilizer from time to time is all they need. As long as you follow these simple rules:

The Canary Island Date Palm comes from deserted areas on the Canary islands. Despite it's powerful root system, it does not tolerate drought, when grown in pot. This is easily visible, when the leaf tips start to turn yellow and dry. In winter it should be kept cool, down to 0 degrees Celsius. It needs much sun to be able to develop it's full glory. If the surrounding air is very dry, this palm will still thrive, as long as it is watered regularly.

Rosa banksiae 'Lutea', Yellow Lady Banks Rose

Quercus ilex, Holm oak

Holm oak is extremely widespread in the Mediterranean. It will safely tolerate temperatures down to at least -25 degrees. At such temperatures damage of the leaves will begin. This lovely evergreen tree is suitable for park and street landscaping in most of Bulgaria.

We have old trees here and there around the country, planted during the socialism, mainly in various experimental stations, botanical gardens or parks. Although these trees grow beautifully in our climate and bear fruits, any serious efforts to promote them were never taken.
In our nursery, located on the open field between Plovdiv and Asenovgrad, where minimum temperatures often compete with those in the coldest places in Bulgaria, the Holm oak thrives and grows quite fast. The small plants that we planted a few years ago in our botanical garden, are already a trees, quite reminiscent of olives.

The name of the holm oak comes from his extremely hard wood (here's another reason to grow it - because of the widespread use of wood). Needless to say, how valuable is such hardwood. The Holm oak is completely drought resistant and can safely be planted for reforestation of dry slopes and hills.

This Eucalyptus species has a reputation of cold hardy -15 degrees at least, but in Bulgaria it shows surprising results. In some places, it grows without damage and becomes a big tree, and others - freezes down to the ground at -5 degrees. There is definitely a potential in this species, but more experiments are needed here.
